Accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH), the University of Albany’s School of Public Health at the State University of New York offers a fully online program for master degrees in public health (MPH) with all the benefits provided by the university’s traditional MPH programs. The core concentration focuses on a strong public health-orientated academic foundation with all the relevant skills and knowledge required to succeed in the field of public health.

The University at Albany MPH online program comprises 51 credit hours that include a combination of core, advanced, and elective courses in public health. In addition, a practice-based 720-hour (for nine credits) internship is required. Although up to six credits may be waived if students have previous relevant public health experience, at least 240 hours (three credits) of practice must be completed.

Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution and a minimum GPA of 3.0 in a completed bachelor’s and/or graduate degree. Applications are to be submitted via SOPHAS (www.sophas.org) and must include: a completed application; official transcripts; official standardized exam scores (GRE, GMAT, MCAT, LSAT, PCAT or DAT); an updated resume; a personal statement describing their interests and goals in the field of public health; and three references.

Only international students who currently live in the US, and will be in the country for the full period of their study, may apply for admission to the University at Albany MPH online program .
