Situated in Pocatello, Idaho State University’s Kasiska College of Health Professions (KSHP) offers an online Master of Public Health (MPH) program that is fully accredited by the CEPH. Designed to meet the needs of working professionals, the Idaho State University MPH program focuses on the health of communities and populations using planning, evaluation, and implementation of programs that promote good health and prevent disease.
The degree has a 48 credit hours requirement, with 36 of these based on core courses and the remaining hours coming from electives and thesis/project options.

Applications in Epidemiology that leads to problem-solving skills in the health sciences.
Biostatistics that produces a conceptual understanding of how to calculate and interpret inferential statistics in research relating to public health.
Social and Cultural Perspectives in Public Health that explores a wide range of health beliefs and disparities that are multicultural and relevant worldwide.
Leadership and Administration skills that can be effectively implemented in public health policies and programs.
Environmental and Occupational Health that also deals with the implications of what mankind does.
US and Global Health Systems that are both historic and contemporary.
Technological Applications in Public Health and how these can be used effectively.
Seminar in Community and Public Health that includes the study of topics, trends, and challenges within the public health sector.
Health Program Planning and Evaluation that focuses on disease prevention.
Research and Writing in Health that leads to a thesis/project proposal.
Health Behavior Change Theory and Application that includes planning as well as implementation and evaluation of effective public health education.
The program of study is a rigorous one that centers on the principles and practice of public health. All students are required to maintain good grades, and a minimum 3.0 Grade Point Average (GPA) is needed both for admission to Idaho State University, and to graduate. Students who do not maintain this level of performance risk dismissal from the Idaho State University MPH program.
Other admission prerequisites include an average of at least 40 percent for the quantitative and verbal sections of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE), and not less than 20 percent in either. No other testing instruments may be substituted; however, candidates with doctoral degrees do not have to submit GRE scores.
All applicants must produce two letters of recommendation and a typed essay covering their desire to complete an MPH degree, and how it will facilitate their career goals.
